Available in two flavours, Fast & Very fast

Although it was given the gorgeous Aurora Borealis as its moniker, potential buyers are more likely to see stars when they first press the throttle. Because the new Zenvo is the most extreme road vehicle that is now available.

One of them is, at least. The new Zenvo Aurora Tur and Zenvo Aurora Agil are the two variations of this new "car." Both vehicles have a brand-new V12 engine, while serving distinct purposes—the former was designed for lengthy road journeys, the later for hitting the track.

The finished product is less of a "car" and more of a 1,850bhp bug that can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 2.3 seconds, 0-300 kph in 9 seconds, and 0-400 kph in 17 seconds when dressed in the most basic of carbon fiber suits. In this "road car," you're looking at a terrifying top speed of 450 kph (280 mph).

Actually, it seems quite ominous. Christian Brandt, the head of Zenvo design, has incorporated traditional Danish philosophy - simplicity - into a "skeletal" shape, drawing inspiration from both the company's history and future. "We wanted to showcase as much of the chassis, the engine, and the suspension as we could," he stated.

The two automobiles were apparently necessary since the divide between those who preferred comfort and luxury and those who preferred a more "aggressive" vehicle was exactly 50/50. Both bodystyles are encased in the identical "ZM1" carbon monocoque, which is reportedly 70% exposed. With a modular chassis, less than 120kg in weight, and "Formula 1 levels of structural safety," this vehicle is advertised.

The aforementioned V12, a brand-new 6.6-liter quad-turbo monster created by Mahle Powertrain, is integrated into this exposed chassis and is capable of producing a cool 1,250bhp on its own while revving to 9,800rpm. The Aurora's engine is configured as a "hot V" with the turbos located in the middle and both models have a seven-speed transmission with an electric motor tucked within, delivering an additional 200 horsepower.

"The overwhelming feedback we received from owners was that everyone loves the throttle response of naturally aspirated engines, and everyone loves the instant hit of power delivered by electric, but without the heavy weight and range anxiety that comes with batteries," stated Jens Sverdup, CEO of Zenvo. The e-motor and four smaller turbos were added to provide torque filling as the larger turbos sped up.

The Aurora Tur has an extra pair of electric motors (one on each front wheel) for four-wheel drive and the whole nutjob 1,850bhp and 450kph, in contrast to the track-focused Agil's rear-drive hypercar with 1,450bhp.

The Agil is built for the track and has a top speed of 365 kph. Despite having somewhat slower acceleration times (0-100 kph in 2.5 seconds), it still has 880 kg of downforce at 250 kph. A larger rear wing with an air brake and more aggressive aero around the body and below the car are how this is accomplished. This one's interior has been completely gutted in order to record a kerbweight of 1,300 kg.

The Tur is somewhat heavier (1,450 kg), but its smoother, simpler design contributes to its peak speed of 450 kph. Along with 1,850 horsepower, naturally. There are more "tactile" materials, improved soundproofing, and a "more traditional luxury GT environment" inside this version, which indicates a higher degree of comfort.

According to Sverdup, "The Aurora project is best characterized as an equilibrium of extremes." We were quite clear throughout the development phases that we did not want to be chasing precise figures or lap times since doing so might divert attention from other issues or lead to compromises.

"What was crucial, though, was the determination to push the Aurora to the cutting edge of what could be accomplished by pushing each component to its absolute limit while working in concert with the others.

We just wanted to create a drivers' vehicle that was uncompromising and effective on all fronts, he continued.

2025 will see the start of delivery for both hand-built Aurora versions.
