This is a gold Bugatti Chiron Super Sport with a few drawings on the side. It is a rare automobile that has been made even rarer by a custom exterior treatment that its owner had commissioned and that Bugatti carried out. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 'Golden Era' is what it has become known as.
But if you look closer, you may see certain historical details carved into its flanks. This golden Bugatti is emblazoned with some of the company's most recognizable automobiles, quite literally.
'Very Special Customer' wanted to honor both the Chiron SS and the departing W16 engine. The Bugatti team, under the direction of former design head Achim Andscheidt, combed through the archives to choose a few unique vehicles.
The Type 57 SC Atlantic, EB110, and Veyron were chosen from Bugatti's two "golden eras": the first, during the period of Ettore, Jean, and Roland Bugatti, and the second, beginning in 1987.
Naturally, the base color is a unique shade of gold called "Doré," which Bugatti's craftsmen manually drew on the bodywork with pens they typically use for paper. The only method, it seems, to get the desired finish. It is a 273 mph sketchpad in actuality.
According to reports, the entire automobile took more than 400 hours to create and has 26 hand-drawn cars on the passenger side and 19 on the driver's side. It's safe to say the owner is pleased with the results, which also included painting three automobiles per door panel.
The owner immediately loved the proposal that Andscheidt's team presented, which included 45 designs of the brand's logos that would be hand-drawn directly onto the vehicle.
"The implementation may seem quite simple, but it took more patience and craftsmanship than you could ever imagine to achieve a perfect finish and one that would stand the test of time."
