Its also the "World's Fastest Armored Car"

Armored vehicles usually bring to mind bulky SUVs and luxury sedans — your typical Cadillac Escalade or Mercedes S-Class, built to shield VIPs from all manner of threats. But here’s a twist: the Lucid Air Sapphire, a sleek electric saloon, has just been transformed into a bulletproof beast. And not just any armored car — the *fastest* one in the world.

This bespoke Lucid, crafted by the US Armor Group, is claiming that title with confidence. Straight from the factory, the Air Sapphire packs a whopping 920 kW (1,234 horsepower) and rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.89 seconds. That makes it quicker than any armored Escalade and probably faster than most things that could be sent to catch it.

But it’s not all about speed. Safety is the name of the game, and this Lucid comes loaded. Forget standard glass — this Air Sapphire features lightweight laminated transparent armor that can stop a .44 Magnum round in its tracks. The doors and body panels are reinforced with a composite material that’s apparently ten times stronger and five times lighter than ballistic steel.

All these reinforcements add just 175 kg to the Sapphire’s curb weight, bringing it up to a still sprightly 2,594 kg. Given the bulletproofing, it could be a lot worse. Even with the added heft, US Armor Group claims the armored Air Sapphire can still hit 322 km/h, while maintaining a near-stock 0 to 100 km/h time.

And if you're really feeling paranoid? You can add extras like electro-shock door handles, pepper spray dispensers, gun ports, poison gas protection, and armor that can stop high-powered rifles and explosives. The options list reads like something out of a Bond film.

Inside, the protection continues with an "impenetrable" WiFi system to keep digital threats at bay, and a scanner that connects you directly to local police and emergency services. There's even a dedicated link to the US Armor Group for real-time support.

Of course, all this peace of mind comes at a price. The standard Lucid Air Sapphire already costs $250,500, but the US Armor Group's version will set you back a hefty $475,000. Pricey, sure, but when you consider it’s a bulletproof, hacker-proof, all-electric luxury car that can outrun almost anything else on the road, that might just be a bargain.
