Another day, another new mid-size SUV—but this one’s worth paying attention to. Meet the Zeekr 7X, a five-seat stunner that’s gearing up to take on Europe’s best with some serious stats that’ll make the competition squirm.
At its heart are advanced silicon carbide electric motors churning out a rumored 480 kW—yes, that’s more grunt than a Porsche Cayman GT4. And with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 3.8 seconds, this nearly three-tonne family SUV has the pace to embarrass many so-called sports cars.
The 7X offers two battery choices: a 75 kWh pack delivering a range of 605 km, and a larger 100 kWh pack pushing that up to an impressive 780 km. Thanks to Zeekr’s 800-volt architecture, charging from 10 to 80 percent can take as little as 10.5 minutes on a rapid charger—bringing EV pit stops ever closer to petrol refueling times.
Size-wise, it’s no shrinking violet. At 4,825 mm long and 1,930 mm wide, it’s larger than a Volkswagen Tiguan, though the German competitor edges ahead in boot space with 652 litres compared to the 7X’s 616 litres. Still, with 32 storage compartments scattered throughout, there’s plenty of room for all those everyday essentials you inevitably lose track of.
Tech-savvy? Absolutely. It’s packed with cameras, radars, and a suite of safety features that’ll help it dodge obstacles you didn’t even know were there. The infotainment is powered by a Qualcomm chip, so you can expect crisp, responsive displays.
The Zeekr 7X lands in China next month, with a global rollout slated for next year. The only thing left to find out? How much it’ll set you back. But with performance, range, and tech like this, it’s clear that the 7X isn’t just another mid-sized SUV—it’s a bold statement aimed squarely at Europe’s premium players.
