Rear windows? Who needs them when you’ve got Manthey-level aerodynamics.

Hot on the heels of Porsche’s updated 911 GT3 comes a jaw-dropping upgrade to the outgoing GT3 RS courtesy of Manthey Racing. This factory-backed aero kit doesn’t just scream race car - it’s got Porsche’s official seal of approval, so your warranty stays intact. For context, Porsche has owned a controlling 51% stake in Manthey Racing since 2013, meaning this collaboration is pure, distilled precision.

The first thing you’ll notice? The rear window has been swapped for a carbon fiber panel that’s 25% lighter, complete with a striking shark fin. This isn’t just for show; the design borrows from Porsche’s 963 endurance racer and improves stability at high speeds. Six additional fins on the roof help funnel hot air from the front radiators away from the rear intakes, ensuring they draw in cooler air for optimal engine performance.

At the back, the upgrades are unmistakable. The already colossal carbon rear wing now features new endplates for even more downforce, complemented by a larger diffuser. Manthey has also fitted carbon fiber aerodisc wheel covers, cutting drag without compromising the car’s brutal track prowess. Add it all up, and this upgraded RS now generates over 1,000 kilograms of downforce at 285 km/h—a stat that’ll make your palms sweat just reading it.

The modifications aren’t just skin deep. Manthey has stiffened the suspension with 30% higher spring rates up front and 15% at the rear. Track-focused tweaks continue with new shock absorbers, racing brake pads (for models with ceramic composite brakes), and a smattering of extras, from carbon fiber door sill guards to LED door projectors. There’s even a racing-spec towing eye, though it’s strictly for track use.

Manthey didn’t slap this kit together overnight, either. It’s the product of two years and thousands of kilometers of testing across Europe’s most demanding circuits. Unsurprisingly, the Nürburgring is in its sights. Manthey hopes to better the GT3 RS’ stock lap time of 6:49.32, set in October 2022 on the 20.8-kilometer circuit. If the stars align, it could even edge closer to the blistering 6:43.30 posted by a previous-generation GT2 RS equipped with Manthey upgrades.

Speaking of lap times, a new 992-generation GT2 RS is rumored to be in development. If Manthey gets their hands on that, expect even more Nürburgring records to fall.

For now, GT3 RS owners can order the Manthey kit, with deliveries starting in January across the European Union and in March for the rest of the world. Pricing hasn’t been disclosed, but for reference, the Manthey kit for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS starts at €50,793 (around $53,946), excluding installation. Rest assured, every cent is a ticket to track-day glory.

This is not just an upgrade it’s a statement. Manthey’s GT3 RS is the embodiment of Porsche’s relentless pursuit of speed, precision, and the thrill of the apex.
