Its the most powerful Porsche Panamera ever

Hold onto your hats, folks, because the Turbo S E-Hybrid has landed, and it’s here to shake things up. This isn't just any Panamera; it's the most potent one ever, arriving hot on the heels of a Nürburgring record. Alongside this beast, Porsche also brings us the new GTS. Excited yet? You should be.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid is packing some serious heat under the hood. It's got an electrified V8 that’s more potent than ever, and it comes with a hefty battery upgrade to boot. Sticky tires, a carbon fiber aero kit, and an impressive list of standard features only add to its allure.

At its core, this top-tier Panamera sports a twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine pumping out 591 horsepower. Coupled with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it cranks out an additional 187 hp. Combined, you’re looking at a staggering 771 hp, a solid 60 kW more than its predecessor. Torque? It’s up by a whopping 130 Nm, now delivering a monumental 1,000 Nm.

Thanks to this electrified muscle, the flagship Panamera shaves two-tenths off its 0-100 km/h time, hitting the mark in just 2.8 seconds. Flat out, it’ll touch 325 km/h, an impressive 13 km/h faster than the old model. But there’s more. Porsche has boosted the battery capacity by 45 percent to 25.9 kWh, extending its electric range significantly.

Sitting at the pinnacle, the (deep breath) Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid comes loaded with the best kit as standard. Ceramic brakes? Check. Forged 21-inch center-lock wheels? Absolutely. There are still a few extras you can opt for, like an aero kit and bespoke Michelin tires. The aero kit adds 60 kg of downforce at 200 km/h, while the tires are custom Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

Orders are open, but brace yourself – Porsche is asking for a cool R4,297,000 before options. If that’s a bit too steep, fear not. The Panamera lineup is also welcoming a GTS trim for the 2025 model year, priced at a more approachable R2,937,000. Both prices include destination and handling fees. While the Turbo S E-Hybrid is the mightiest, the GTS is claimed to be the most nimble.

The Panamera GTS is no slouch, packing 493 hp – 15 kW more than the previous generation. It rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, a tenth of a second quicker. Top speed? 303 km/h. Compared to the more sedate versions, the GTS sits 10 mm lower thanks to tweaked standard air suspension. Zuffenhausen’s engineers have also beefed up the anti-roll bars and fine-tuned the limited-slip differential for a more engaging drive.

Both new Panamera variants are set to hit dealers by the end of Q1 2025. Get ready.
