The GT Academy victor and current movie star Jann Mardenborough's Nissan GT-R GT3 is currently up for auction.
It is described as the "most successful GT-R Nismo R35 GT3 still in private hands" by Silverstone Auctions, who will auction the vehicle on August 25. Those hands belong to Darren Cox, a former Nissan director who, along with Sony and Gran Turismo, developed the idea for the Nissan GT Academy.
In addition to driving this vehicle in real life, Mardenborough also did it in the upcoming Gran Turismo film. Nissan's best finish in recent memory, according to reports, was ninth place in the 2015 Nürburgring 24-hour race.
The new film immortalizes Mardenborough's victory in the exceptional competition, which gave sim racers with no prior experience in real-world racing the chance to compete for Nissan. Mardenborough, the third competition winner, eventually went on to become a legitimate racer and even finished on the podium in an LMP2 car at Le Mans.
The vehicle is reportedly "race-ready," capable of competing in the GT Cup, Masters, and "various GT events worldwide." Silverstone Auctions estimates a price of R4 millon to R4.8 million for this item.
