Another ‘reimagined’ Porsche 964 focuses on performance and some power

The spec sheet is brief, the mission statement briefer still. This is the new Turbo Study from your favourite Californian 964 specialists, Singer Vehicle Design, and yes, you want it.

Singer’s line on the car is thus. “This Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer is specified by its owner to focus on sports performance, including a power increase to 510HP.”

Which is a little more power than the one we saw earlier this year. The air-cooled 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six gets air-to-water intercooling and sends its many horsies to its fat tyres via a six-speed manual gearbox. The suspension has been “sports calibrated” and lowered, and those classic wheels hide carbon ceramic brakes.

Visual upgrades include carbon fibre elements for the front splitter, the shark-fin intake and of course, the ‘whale tale’ spoiler. It’s beautifully simple inside too, with lightweight carbon fibre seats, lightweight door trims and painted interior surfaces. There’s also a rear cross-brace and houndstooth ‘Grun’ cloth.

“Each owner specifies the balance of luxury and sporting character preferred for their car,” Singer said. “This owner has pursued a focus on high-performance sport-focused capabilities.”

The same brevity with which it’s described can no doubt be applied to the performance, what with a 503bhp flat-six out back…
