Boss Linda Jackson tells TG that nobody has asked the question yet, but a blank cheque could make it happen

Billionaires of the world assemble! Peugeot boss Linda Jackson has ever-so-slightly opened the door to a road-going version of the wingless 9X8 hypercar.

“No. It’s not in the pipeline,” said Jackson when we asked the most speculative of questions about turning the 9X8 into a proper Aston Martin Valkyrie rival. And yet, she did also offer: “If you’re going to come with a blank cheque we can always talk.

“It’s one of these things where if somebody were to come along then why not? But nobody has come along yet. Maybe I’ve opened the door now? We might have somebody come along you never know.”

Clearly there are no plans to put the Le Mans Hypercar spec racer into proper production then, but that does sound like Jackson could be convinced to make a one-off if there were enough zeros on the offer.

Of course, originally the plan was for all of the Le Mans Hypercar entries to be homologated with actual road cars, and we would love to see the twin-turbo V6 hybrid Peugeot as a proper halo hypercar for the road.

Just imagine one of these sat next to a 208 in the dealership.
