The GLC43 will go on sale in 2024, whereas the GLC63 S E Performance will only be available in 2025.

Mercedes-Benz can accommodate individuals who choose a sport utility vehicle with a little less functionality. The AMG-tweaked GLC twins, the GLC43 and the GLC63 S E Performance in sloped-roof Coupe configuration, are now available for your viewing enjoyment.

Priorities come first. The running equipment is the same as that found in the normal AMG GLC SUVs that made their debut back in July, despite the leaner bodywork. With 201 hp coming from its lone electric motor, the GLC63 S E Performance's overachieving turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine alone produces 469 horsepower, giving it a total of 671 peak horsepower and 1020Nm of torque. However, it should be remembered that peak power is only accessible for a 10-second period.

The GLC43 delivers a hybrid punch as well, but much more subtly. The same turbocharged four-pot is installed under the hood by Mercedes-Benz, but it has been tuned to 416 horsepower and is supplemented by a tiny motor that offers a momentary 13 horsepower boost when required. Both use the automaker's nine-speed AMG Speedshift transmission to distribute power to all four wheels, and both come standard with rear-axle steering and the AMG Ride Control suspension.

The performance numbers for either vehicle remain the same even after a portion of the SUV's top is removed to create the sporty Coupe look. According to Mercedes-AMG, the GLC43 has an electronically regulated peak speed of 250 kph and can accelerate to 100 kph in 4.7 seconds. The identical 100 kph run takes the GLC63 S E Performance 3.4 seconds, and its speed limits doesn't engage until 290 kph. The interior design with the well-known MBUX system is the same, as are the suspension choices, performance brakes, and interior arrangement.

Speaking of pricing, Mercedes isn't quite ready to disclose the price of its new coupe-SUVs. Additionally, the precise release date for their sale is not yet known. We can tell you, however, that the GLC43 is listed by Mercedes-AMG as a 2024 model, while the GLC63 S E Performance is listed as a 2025 vehicle.
