Today, Mercedes-AMG introduces the SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur for 2024. The special-edition, limited-production model, which is exclusively available in the US, has undergone an inside and exterior makeover.
The model is painted Manufactur Orange Flame Metallic by Mercedes. Contrast is added with black brake calipers, black 21-inch wheels, and a black soft top with components from the AMG Exterior Chrome Package. In a first for the model, the SL63 also sports an AMG insignia on the front fascia.
Hand-stitched Mystic Red/Black Nappa leather with orange contrast stitching is part of the Manufaktur upgrade. The seats, steering wheel, armrest, center door panels, and bottom instrument panel all have the color combination. Deep-pile floor mats with embroidered AMG insignia and chrome "Manufaktur" writing on the center console are included with the vehicle.
The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine from the 2024 SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur is housed beneath the hood. The 557 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque are identical to those of the basic AMG SL63.
The car's AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system receives power from the nine-speed automatic transmission. The convertible's peak speed is electronically regulated to 310 kph, and it can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.5 seconds.
The Performance Trim Line with Front Axle Lift System, the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, and AMG Active Ride Control are included as standard equipment. The Driver Assistance Package and a Burmester surround sound system are available for passengers.
The SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur's introduction also heralds the start of the Manufaktur program for the AMG SL series in the US. With the 2024 model, US clients will have greater personalization possibilities.
Through the Manufaktur initiative, Mercedes will provide three new exterior colors and two Nappa leather interior choices. The business described the customisation capabilities early this year, giving customers a variety of unique color selections.
The vehicle will make its public premiere in the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge during Monterey Car Week, from August 17–19, at Pebble Beach. Alongside the AMG GT, the special-edition SL will make its debut. The new GT will have many similarities to the convertible and will go up against vehicles such as the Porsche 911. It will feature a V8 engine, but the car company will also make plug-in hybrid versions available.
