Are you a 2,000 horsepower electric hypercar-owning impatient millionaire? There is good news.

Lotus has some pretty ambitious goals for the future expansion of the business. So much so that we almost overlooked the about 2,000 horsepower Evija hypercar. Almost.

A prototype of the Evija was even driven by TG at Lotus' Hethel test track in 2021, back when we first saw it. Since then, there hasn't been much noise, and we're not just talking about the Evija's electric drivetrain.

However, Lotus has now stated that the first very clients will receive their incredibly quick hypercars in a very short period of time.

According to a Lotus representative, "production has begun." The first client automobiles will be delivered in the coming weeks, according to the statement made about the special Evija facility in Hethel housing the cars.

How many of the 130 scheduled automobiles have really been sold? That's still a little hazy, I suppose. The eight units of the black-and-gold creation were all present and correct when Lotus unveiled the limited edition Evija Fittipaldi in October of last year.

Based on the deposits we've received, Lotus said that the first year of manufacturing had been completely sold out. We have a ton of genuine interested parties, but we haven't taken deposits yet because all we've done is give the first year of manufacturing priority. Naturally, much like any other OEM, Covid and supply chain concerns have made it difficult to produce automobiles during the past two or three years.

Therefore, it sounds like you could still be able to get a Norfolk-built rocketship if you have an extra £2.4 million hanging around. Anyone interested?
