It looks like the Huracan Sterrato could actually go into production.

Most people wouldn't dream of driving a Lamborghini in the rain, much less getting it dirty by driving it on, well, actual dirt. The mere thought of driving a Lambo more than a few feet on a surface that isn't silky smooth—and most American roads don't fit that description—is enough to make some folks cringe. Lamborghini is looking to change that perception, if not with its relatively new Urus SUV, then with the upcoming Huracán Sterrato.

Effectively, the Sterrato is an off-road-prepped Huracán. Yes, you read that correctly. Why did Lamborghini make an off-road version of its Huracán supercar? The story goes that while the engineering team was developing the Urus SUV, it spent a lot of time off-roading and caught the bug. From there, the team started to ideate what would happen if one of its supercars received a similar treatment.

Hence, the Huracán Sterrato was born. Lamborghini is so excited about it that the automaker flew our own Jonny Lieberman (and three other journalists) out to southern Italy just to drive a prototype of this off-road concept. As you might guess, Mr. Lieberman had all of the fun ripping the Sterrato on the rally course at Italy's Nardo test track.

The off-road bull is probably coming to dealerships after all. Lamborghini just released a short film called "Beyond The Concrete" featuring a camo-wrapped Huracán Sterrato going rip riot on dirt roads long side a mountain biker.

Lamborghini shared the video in a tweet along with "stay tuned." That strongly suggests that we will all see more of the Huracán Sterrato soon. We think there are significant odds that the next time we talk about this car, it will be a production announcement.
