Karma has dialed up the performance game with the Invictus, a sharper, more dynamic take on the Revero plug-in hybrid sedan. Steering and suspension have been overhauled in this performance-focused iteration, though the powertrain remains the same. The release date? Still under wraps.
Now, Karma the boutique Californian automaker that rose from the ashes of Fisker Automotive, hasn’t exactly built an all-new car here. Think of the Invictus as a fierce evolution of the Revero, drawing a line back through the Karma GS-6 and ultimately to the 2012 Fisker Karma itself.
Visually, it retains the sleek, sophisticated styling of the Revero but ramps up the tech with a lightweight carbon-fiber hood, roof, and side panels, plus a carbon trunklid and spoiler. Up front, the carbon-fiber fenders now sport louvers to help release pressure from the front wheel arches, a clear nod to motorsport styling and aerodynamics.
The real performance shift comes with a new Öhlins coil-over suspension system, complemented by Swift springs for precision handling. Karma has also re-tuned the steering for increased sharpness and predictability, making it notably more responsive at the edge of its cornering capabilities.
Powering every Invictus is the same plug-in hybrid system found in the Revero - a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine paired with twin electric motors on the rear axle. This setup delivers an impressive 536 brake horsepower (400 kW) and a robust 746 Nm of torque.
Karma plans to produce just 30 units of the Invictus, keeping it as exclusive as it is potent. As for pricing and availability, Karma is holding those cards close, leaving us all to wait with bated breath.
