And they’ll all use the F1 teams’ liveries as well

The all-female F1 Academy will include a driver from each of the ten F1 teams next season, in what appears to be a significant step toward enhancing the connections between the junior series and F1 itself.

The F4-based competition has a 15-driver grid, with five teams—ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, MP Motorsport, Prema Racing, and Rodin Carlin—each running three cars.

The F1 teams will choose a driver of their choosing and lend out their liveries as well, which makes sense given that F1 Academy will only serve as a support series for F1 in the upcoming season.

Although the final lineup won't be revealed for some time, the official partners of the series will sponsor the remaining five drivers who weren't nominated by F1 teams.

Susie Wolff, the managing director of the series, stated, "First and foremost, I want to thank the Formula 1 teams for their support and vision as we begin on this adventure together. This historic event will encourage a whole generation of young ladies to realize the prospects in racing both on and off the track. It also shows the breadth of support for F1 Academy from the whole F1 community.

"I am confident that we will have a positive impact across our sport in the long run as we join the F1 calendar for next year and host F1 Academy Discover Your Drive events in the lead up to our races," said the team.

Stefano Domenicali, president and chief executive officer of F1, said, "We established F1 Academy to effect genuine, long-lasting change, ensuring that young female talent has the proper framework in place to pursue and realize their goals. Today is a crucial day because it demonstrates the project's influence and the backing it is getting from the whole F1 community.

"Susie, the teams, and everyone involved are working really hard to make sure we continue to grow and accomplish the significant goal we have set out together. The addition of the F1 Academy to our event schedule in 2024 will increase the series' worldwide visibility and exposure, and having F1 liveries on the grid will be quite unique.

Marta Garcia, a previous W Series champion, is presently leading the opening season with a 36-point advantage 15 races into the 21-race program for 2023.
