And it'll rocket to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Now that's what you call theatrical.

Ever stared down a 2.8-tonne, eight-seater, all-wheel drive luxury SUV and thought, "You know what this needs? A sub-four-second 0-100 km/h sprint." Well, Hennessey clearly did. Enter the H1000, their take on the Cadillac Escalade V, complete with a frankly absurd 746 kW under the hood.

This massive power bump comes courtesy of Hennessey giving the 6.2-litre V8 a workout. We’re talking about a bulked-up supercharger, along with a new camshaft, upgraded cylinder heads, and beefier throttle bodies. And let’s not forget the enhanced exhaust valves, making sure the H1000 has an even more aggressive soundtrack to match its newfound muscle.

On the outside, the changes are subtle, a few new badges and vinyls here and there. But don't let that fool you. This thing remains a near-three-tonne, road-dominating sleeper. Picture it: as long as a football pitch, as wide as the Grand Canyon, and as tall as the surrounding forest. Its presence? Absolutely undeniable.

Step inside, and it’s the same opulent story. The standard curved 55inch infotainment hub is there, along with a 40-speaker audio system on the 2025 Escalade model. And wherever you look, there's an abundance of perforated leather and polished wood, making the H1000 less of an SUV and more of a five-star, high-speed hotel suite.

Now, let’s talk money. The standard Escalade V starts at around $152,295, so a trip to Hennessey for the H1000 treatment will no doubt push that figure even higher. Plus, with production capped at just 100 units per year for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models and the 2024 run already sold out this isn’t just power, it’s exclusivity on wheels.

Maybe people do want a behemoth that can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds after all.
