12 bespoke models will be built, and each is already sold.

In connection with Monterey Car Week, Hennessey announced a Venom F5-related premiere on August 18. We're getting all the information on the new F5 Revolution Roadster now, 10 days before it makes a debut at The Quail, so it appears that's for an in-person announcement.

Hennessey's open-roof hypercar has been given the same track-focused aero improvements that we saw in January with the introduction of the F5 Revolution hardtop, as was to be anticipated. This vehicle was initially hinted to back in May when John Hennessey, the CEO of the firm, and NBA icon Michael Jordan were pictured together in front of a black Venom F5. Now that we know why the ad said the car was "a special Venom F5 for a special friend," it makes sense. The F5 Revolution Roadster we're seeing now, down to the black finish with yellow accent, is precisely like the piece of the car that was visible in that picture.

There are no aesthetic surprises on the Revolution Roadster if you are familiar with the F5 Revolution. A gigantic old wing at the back, new fascias with larger splitters and diffusers, and dive planes on the corners of the front clip are added. Despite the fact that this car's top may be removed, the engine does have a roof scoop. When the single-piece roof is out, it overhang the cockpit just a little bit and is attached to the engine cover.

In relation to that, the F5 Revolution Roadster's roof is a stiff carbon fiber composite that is inside lined with Alcantara. Hennessey claims that it weighs only 8kg for simple removal and is fastened in the fixed position using high-strength latches. In addition, the Texas-based business claims that the Roadster is "comprehensively re-engineered from its coupe sibling," though specific modifications aren't specified.

There is nothing wrong with the twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 engine remaining the same as it was. The Venom F5 is a unique breed with 1,817 horsepower and a peak speed that may go above 300 mph (482 kph). Although an official top-speed attempt hasn't been made yet, it's unlikely that this track-focused version of the Revolution - whether in coupe or convertible guise - is capable of such speeds given the extra aero components.

Only 12 F5 Revolution Roadsters, priced at $3 million apiece, will be produced by Hennessey, and they are all already reserved. Michael Jordan may own the first one, according to a business post on Facebook from May, but a Hennessey representative was unable to confirm this. We can, however, guarantee that each F5 Revolution Roadster will be distinctive, with various color and trim combinations. The first of five Bare Carbon variants, with exposed carbon fiber and yellow trim, is the automobile seen here.
