The T.33 to be revealed on January 27 and built at new HQ

Gordon Murray Automotive has officially announced plans to reveal its second all-new model called the T.33 on January 27. Proposed to be the ultimate supercar GT, the new model will be the first built in GMA’s new global HQ in Surrey, and represent the next stage in Murray’s plans for GMA.

Few specifics of the T.33 have been revealed so far, but we do know it should utilise a derivative of a Cosworth-built naturally-aspirated V12 engine and manual transmission as found in the T.50. These key drivetrain elements will then be mounted in a brand new and bespoke carbonfibre chassis. This setup might seem familiar to the T.50, and it is, but the key difference will be its aero and seating layout, which is likely to leave the fan and three-seater layout to the flagship.

Instead, as the name implies, this second model will have more of a focus on the added comfort and usability associated with grand tourers, and like all GMA products will be built in relatively low numbers of no more than 100 units.

The new model will be built at GMA’s brand new headquarters currently under construction in Surrey. As well as housing production, the new HQ will also be home to vehicle design and development, an on-site test track, and a heritage, customer and servicing centre.

In a short statement, Gordon Murray said: ‘I am confident that both our new Supercar and our new home will be game-changers in the UK automotive industry. We will have many important milestones for our HQ over the next two years. But one of the most important will be on 27 January when we reveal the first Gordon Murray Automotive vehicle to be manufactured there. We’re all extremely excited to be revealing such a significant car to the world in just three weeks from now.’
