Four of the most exquisite Aston Martin Zagatos ever created are about to hit the auction block, and they represent nearly every significant collaboration Aston Martin has had with the legendary Italian design house in recent years.
The headline act? The Vanquish Zagato series, introduced in 2016, and you're getting not one, but three different body styles: Shooting Brake, Speedster, and Volante. Rarity check: the Speedster tops the exclusivity charts with only 28 units ever produced, while the Shooting Brake and Volante, if you can even call them "common" - were each limited to 99 units.
Based on the second-generation Vanquish S, these Zagatos come with almost an entirely new wardrobe. Up front, there’s a new light signature, redesigned grille, splitter, and a set of unique five-spoke alloys. The wheel arches? Bulging like a weightlifter on leg day.
The back end doesn't disappoint either. The taillights are adorned with multiple ‘spiked’ fixtures, framed by a dramatic boot spoiler. A redesigned diffuser sits much higher, swallowing up a pair of quad exhaust pipes. It’s a visual masterpiece, and for those who've saved up, this is where your pennies will finally pay off.
Mechanically, these beauties are as ferocious as ever, retaining the same 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 as the standard Vanquish S. That’s 592 brake horsepower (441 kW), channelled through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The numbers? 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and a top speed north of 320 km/h.
But wait, there's more - enter the fourth car: the DBS GT Zagato, built to celebrate Zagato’s centenary. This is part of the ultra-rare ‘DBZ Centenary Collection’, where only 19 pairs of this car and its DB4 GT sibling were made. So, good luck spotting one of these in the wild, it’s rarer than a solar eclipse.
The DBS GT is based on the DBS Superleggera, but it’s packing even more visual punch. The front features a thicker, scaled grille, sharper headlights, and a scooped bonnet. The rear’s been given a makeover too, with a carbonised two-piece boot spoiler and a curvier bumper with a mesh insert.
And under the bonnet? The Superleggera’s 5.2-litre V12 has been tuned to deliver a whopping 760 bhp (567 kW). 0-100 km/h comes in at just 3.4 seconds, but really, who cares about numbers when the car looks this stunning?
As for the price? Well, let’s just say it’ll be packed with a lot of zeros, but we’re sure you knew that already.
