The UK firm’s flagship EV will do 0-60mph in under 4.0 seconds and will weigh less than the original

Remember when electric restomod company Everrati announced that it was going to build an EV GT40 and the Internet almost imploded? Well, the UK-based firm has now announced that said GT40 will get 800bhp from its twin-motor powertrain.

The announcement comes as part of a wider tech dump that Everrati has released, with news that the GT40 will also get 590lb ft of torque and a 0-60mph time of “well under four seconds”.

Everrati has developed the powertrain in-house, with the radial flux electric motors sending their power to the rear wheels alone. Top speed is apparently somewhere north of 125mph. The battery is a 60kWh unit with packs housed in the sills and behind the cockpit. Everrati says weight distribution is 40/60 front to rear, with the original 1966 GT40 MKII A being 38/62. Total weight is 1,320kg, which Everrati also says is 47kg lighter than a fully-fuelled GT40 in period.

Worth mentioning that there’s 700-volt architecture on board too, with 80kW fast charging that can top up the GT40 from 20 to 80 per cent in 45 miles. Range is upwards of 125 miles.

Everrati has said that its GT40 will get a ‘Race Mode’ that among other things activates an augmented exhaust sound that uses tech from racing simulators to pump 110db of V8 sound into the cabin. Apparently in this mode the driver can also use the gear shifter to make fake shifts, with the sound generators and torque delivery from the e-motors making it feel like you’re actually changing gear.

What do we think then, Internet? Remember that Everrati is using Superformance continuation chassis’ for the GT40, so no originals were harmed in the making of this car…
