The Trio have been on entertaining us for 21 years

The motoring world is in for a seismic shift. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are officially ending their TV partnership, drawing the curtain on two decades of automotive antics and unforgettable escapades.

The rumors were true. The Grand Tour, the follow-up to their iconic run on BBC's Top Gear, is coming to a close. The trio has decided to dissolve their production company, W. Chump and Sons, marking the end of an era that spanned 21 years and countless adventures.

According to The Daily Mail, the final farewell was confirmed, with the Zimbabwe special set to be their last hurrah on the small screen. Clarkson and Hammond first took the helm of Top Gear in 2002, with James May joining two seasons later, replacing Jason Dawe. Their tenure on Top Gear lasted 13 years before the BBC opted not to renew their contracts. In 2016, they launched The Grand Tour on Prime Video, bringing their unique brand of motoring mayhem to a global audience.

Jeremy Clarkson will continue to entertain on his Prime Video hit, Clarkson's Farm, while Hammond and May are expected to pursue their own projects. May has already filmed several travel and cooking specials for Prime Video, and Hammond hosted a survival show in 2021 called The Great Escapists, alongside former Mythbuster Tory Belleci.

As for The Grand Tour, there's speculation that Prime Video might continue the series with new hosts. Whether this will capture the same magic remains to be seen.

This trio’s departure leaves a significant void in the world of motoring entertainment. Their chemistry, wit, and genuine love for cars turned their shows into more than just automotive programs—they were cultural phenomena. Now, as they go their separate ways, fans can only look back fondly on the countless moments of joy, laughter, and sheer motoring madness they’ve shared with us over the years.
