Was anyone asking for this?

Yes, Brabus is at it again. This time, they’ve transformed a Mercedes-AMG SL63 into a stunning, carbon-clad two-door shooting brake with an absurd 986 horsepower (735 kW). It’s no exaggeration to say this custom-built, blacked-out beast could be the most eye-popping creation we’ve seen from Brabus yet.

Underneath those aggressive flared fenders lies the heart of a Mercedes-AMG SL63 S E Performance, but not as we know it. If you’re wondering when Mercedes ever made an SL shooting brake, save yourself the trouble, this is a full Brabus bespoke build, where convention has been left in the dust.

The details? Brabus has created an entirely carbon-fiber body, and there’s no paint job here - just raw, exposed carbon that flaunts its stance from every angle. A reimagined front end now sports a prominent spoiler, handling both form and function by smoothing the airflow towards the monstrous, widened fenders. The aggressive side skirts carry this brutish stance down the line, ending at the back where Brabus has thrown out the retractable roof for a fixed, bulging rear hatch that gives this SL a ‘breadvan’ silhouette with a distinct Brabus flair. And naturally, it’s capped off with a massive diffuser, quad carbon-fiber exhaust tips, and a sleek ducktail spoiler to make sure no one forgets what just passed them.

On the performance side, Brabus has waved their magic wand over the SL’s powertrain. The twin-turbo V8 has been bumped up to 4.4 liters, putting out an insane 785 horsepower (585 kW) on its own. Add to that an electric motor cranking out 201 hp (150 kW) at the rear, and you’re looking at a staggering 986 horses in total, all going through a nine-speed automatic gearbox. A staggered set of Brabus wheels, 21 inch at the front and 22 inch at the back, puts all that power to the ground, supported by a fortified braking and suspension setup to keep it all under control.

Performance is mind-bending. Brabus claims a 0-100 km/h time of just 2.7 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 317 km/h. That alone puts it among the world’s fastest wagons, and Brabus hints it might go even faster without the limiter.

Inside, the Brabus treatment is dialed back ever so slightly, but it’s still a display of luxury. Expect a symphony of Alcantara, carbon fiber, and finely quilted leather. White contrast stitching and subtle blue lighting add a touch of character, creating an atmosphere that’s both stealthy and undeniably exclusive.

Brabus is tight-lipped about pricing or production targets for this Rocket GTS. But let’s face it - if you have to ask, you might already know the answer.
