AWD is only available on models with the 2.5-liter normally aspirated engine, therefore an AWD hybrid is also excluded.

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata has undergone a significant revamp, and now we know more about the model that will be sold in North America. Not surprisingly, other from one key component, there aren't many differences between marketplaces. In this region, buyers have the option of selecting all-wheel drive.

The Sonata's first all-paw configuration is now in place, giving our long-standing Sonata AWD spy photographs their long-awaited conclusion. It's the automaker's HTRAC (Hyundai TRACtion) technology, which actively distributes power front or back depending on the situation. The all-wheel-drive traction will undoubtedly be appreciated by buyers in colder locations, but those seeking for a sporty Sonata N Line AWD will be dissatisfied. Additionally, hybrid shoppers will also be let down. AWD is currently only offered with the 2.5-liter, normally aspirated four-cylinder engine.

In case you forgot, Hyundai updated the Sonata extensively, adding a whole new front clip with narrow headlamps and lots of symmetry between the grille and corner vents. With new taillights in a H motif set atop a reworked lower fascia, the rear has greater symmetry. A pair of 12.3-inch screens (one for the driver and one for the infotainment system) are combined beneath a single curved screen in the redesigned cockpit, which can be found within. Additionally, drivers may use a heads-up display, and Hyundai has modified the 12-speaker Bose sound system for audiophiles.

Three engine choices are available for the 2024 Sonata in North America. The basic sedan's 2.5-liter four-cylinder has previously been stated. The hybrid Sonata has a 2.0-liter engine with a single electric motor, while the Sonata N Line maintains its 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. The official news release from Hyundai makes no mention of modifications to these engines or provides particular horsepower figures. We can tell you that the hybrid generates a total of 192 horsepower, while the 2023 N Line produces 290 hp. Sonata's base model, which is now offered with AWD, has 191 horsepower.
