Audi said that 2023 will be the R8's last model year in late last year. The 2023 R8 GT RWD, which is only available in 150 pieces and costs $249,900 apiece, was released in the United States to commemorate the supercar's 16-year run of manufacturing. Purchase an old R8 and modify it with VF Engineering's bolt-on supercharger system if you missed out on ordering the most potent rear-wheel-drive Audi.
The kit was created by a US tuning business to work with the R8 V10 standard, R8 V10 RWS, and R8 V10 Plus in all of their many global specs. The Eaton TVS2300 supercharger with an air-water after cooling system is the system's core component. The kit is fully reversible and can be put on the 5.2-liter V10 engine without requiring any further hardware adjustments.
When using 91 octane fuel, the bolt-on supercharger system produces 830 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. A somewhat less potent 800-hp package is also available for $31,995. The 830-hp kit should certainly be a little more expensive as a result, but the manufacturer claims the package provides "reliable and superior horsepower without compromise."
The sixth generation TVS2300 supercharger utilized by VF Engineering is a roots-style blower that uses Eaton's most recent generation of four-lobe rotors. The supercharger is attached to a cast manifold that is water-cooled, and separate heat exchangers and a water reservoir increase cooling efficiency even further. According to the tuning company, boost pressures are constant and immediate across the whole rpm range.
VF Engineering can also give your R8 a more unique appearance. Regardless of the supercar's model year, a dramatic green paint job may be added for $3,000 more. Given that a used 2020 Audi R8 AWD can be found for roughly $150,000, a complete performance and cosmetic update will still keep you far below the cost of the 2023 R8 GT RWD.
