'Unleashes' monster SUV from German tuner with a 99-unit maximum

ABT, a German tuning business, has cast a wise eye at Lamborghini's Urus SUV and added extra strength, torque, and body. What else could they do but convert it into a practical, pleasant MPV?

So here it is—the ABT Urus Scatenato. Sadly, this is not a reference to the great musician Scatman John, but rather to the Italian word for "wild" or "unleashed." And with that name comes the expected power increase.

The Urus's biturbo V8 can produce a maximum of 657 horsepower in the factory-spec "Performante" model, a challenge that ABT's Scatenato easily clears. To generate lofty totals of 800 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, the German tuner installed its own specially tuned turbochargers and intercooler, along with — one guesses — an ECU modification.

Of course, the power-to-weight ratio is improved, and a number of external and interior changes support this. There are carbon fiber accents all over the car, new front and back wings, a new rear skirt, flared arches, 23-inch ABT alloy wheels, and a new exhaust system with four tailpipes with a diameter of 105mm.

Inside the Urus's interior, there is yet more exposed carbon and a badge proudly bearing the inscription "Scatenato 1 of 99." There is no information on the cost, but it probably won't be particularly practical or cozy.
